Will the Last Patriot in America Please Turn the Lights Off As You Leave....

My Fellow Americans,
As the first decade turns over in the 21st century, the republic that we've been taught for the last 234 years to believe is the greatest nation in the world needs your help.

The nation known around the world as the United States of America is imploding under the weight of our own self-imposed ignorance and sense of entitlement. While the leading political parties and factions left and right battle it out amongst each other, pandering, slandering, and debasing all that was once good on every media outlet available to them, we are DAILY losing a little piece of what it actually means to be an American.

With every new terror attack, domestic or otherwise, our rights to privacy are eroded just a little bit more. As our Dept. of Homeland Security struggles to keep up with impractical demands to keep every American safe worldwide, we sit by as those very measures meant to protect us take away the freedoms and independence that our forefathers fought to give us. And nobody is paying attention.

With every election of our public officials, our right to choose is eroded just a little bit more. As a registered Independent, I like to think I am able to choose a candidate that best meets the moral, political, and sociological goals that best meet my own. With the two-party system that we have allowed to become entrenched, I often am relegated to choosing between the lesser of two seeming evils when voting for public officials. And nobody is paying attention.

We bemoan the loss and then the misuse of our hard-earned tax dollars, as our right to the pursuit of happiness is eroded just a little bit more each day. With every new step by the Federal government to "nationalize" any industry...finance, education, transportation, healthcare....we allow someone else to tell us how to live our lives and we lose a little bit more of our independence. And nobody is paying attention.

This republic was founded on the blood and sacrifice of thousands of men, women and children who believed that it was better to live as free and independent people - who earned their living from a hard day's work, who educated their children and practiced religious worship as they saw fit, who paid taxes on the goods that they bought, not the wages they earned and who took care of their own healthcare without the assistance of any government program - they believed independence more essential than whatever goods and services may be handed out by a governing body that they struck out on their own and founded a new way of life: to be responsible to and answerable ultimately only to themselves and their God.

Now I've been called a Republican, a Libertarian, a Right-Winger, a Conservative, and many other things you don't care to know for my beliefs. But I will tell you honestly that I am none of those. I don't subscribe to any of those labels or the hypocritical groups who cleave to them.

I am an American. I vote for the candidate who closest embodies the American spirit of life, liberty and the freedoms that I still hold dear.I don't care what party they wish to align themselves with. And as an Independent-thinking American, I ask that you join with me to start the next big revolution to take back our country. This blog will be a completely irreverent look at our political and sociological systems in America today. I will bash the silly Republicans, I will bash the silly Democrats, I may bash every political party known to man kind, but it is all in a spirit of love for the ideals of the republic I was born into and raised to appreciate for the rare and precious thing that it is...the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. God bless us all.
